JCNS Deuteration Service
Jülich Center for Neutron Science
Forschungszentrum Jülich (FZJ) is an inter-disciplinary research institute in Jülich, Germany. The Jülich Centre for Neutron Science (JCNS) conducts research into many areas relevant to neutron-based science. The JCNS runs a synthesis laboratory for the production of soft matter samples and provides a deuteration service for MLZ users in Garching. The core competences of the deuteration service are polymerizations, ethoxylations and organic synthesis. Regular calls for deuteration proposals are held, giving users a possibility to request materials.

Deuteration capabilities
- Synthesis (methods using commercially available precursors)
Specialities
- Polymers from anionic or controlled radical techniques
- Ethoxylated compounds
